Re. Teacher Training Course for English Language Teachers

I am writing to introduce you to the Anglia Distance Learning Programme. This is a course designed for English Language teachers who cannot afford the time or cost of attending a full-time teacher-training programme. It will also be of interest to qualified teachers who would like to continue their professional development through a flexible, low-costing training programme which provides practical support for classroom teaching as well as an opportunity for teachers to maintain their own level of English.

The course consists of 10 study units, which contain exercises on methodological issues and language awareness. Feedback is provided through self-assessment and tutor-marked assignments which are sent to a tutor at Chichester College. The tutor provides a grade and detailed reports for each assignment and there are periodic progress tests. On completion of the course participants are awarded the Anglia Diploma in TESOL.

The relationship between the tutor and the teachers is the most important aspect of the course enabling us to respond flexibly to the needs of individual teachers. We are currently running the course for several groups of English Language teachers in different parts of the world. It is our Local Representative the one who carries out marketing activities as well as administering the distribution and collection of the study units. The course has received positive feedback from participants in several countries and we are hoping to run the course in many more.
